Day 11 - August 15, 2018

“Use your mistakes as fuel to make things better.”
I used to feel down when someone tried to say negative things about what I did or say I have to improve more. As I grow older, and wiser, I realized that those should not drag you down. They should act as fuel to make you better the next time.
First Teaching Day

I faced the morning assembly with nerves all over my body. My first class here in Thailand is in the first period in the morning, that’s from 8:40 to 9:40. I was very nervous but my supervising teacher, Teacher Jesille told me that there’s nothing to worry about, but I couldn’t help it. I became more nervous when I was informed that I would be observed for my first class, but not sure if it would be in the first period or second since I would be teaching for two straight hours. For my first period, I discussed about Artificial Methods of Plant Propagation. In the second part, I did some activities and simulations on how they will do the different methods on the plant model I made.

After that, I grouped them into six and asked them to make their own plant propagation with the prepared materials (Onion bulb, water bottle, pins). They were able to finish the activity and I asked them to track the growth of the onions for a week and submit the Observation Paper the next meeting.

Personal Conference with the Evaluator

After my teaching, the evaluator, Mr. Sherwin Lacang, gave a short conference about my performance. I had good points and I want to strengthen them, but I am also eager to know my not-so-good points, so I can improve myself. He just reminded me to continue and be more firm in the rules I set to my class.

NSTRU Sports Complex Swimming Pool

It was a very tiring day for all of us but we were blessed to have an early dismissal. We decided to visit the sports complex and swim. There we met a friend who was also in another kind of program and  stayed in Thailand for almost a year. By four or five in the afternoon, we saw familiar faces and I saw several students from my class in EP3. It turned out they train for swimming class every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
