Day 26 - August 30, 2018

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
Pablo Picasso
Creativity is part of growing up due to the curiosity running in a child's mind. However, society somehow keeps on killing it instead of harnessing or empowering the artist is each child. Due to the demands of society, family and self, that creative child is forced to leave the creativity aside and simply be like robots manipulated and shaped to fit the design made for him. As teachers, we should not add up to the reasons why children nowadays lose creativity. With all the technology, science and new innovations that can act as medium for creativity, our students need the freedom to express it.
Club Activities

Since we were done with teaching, we decided to roam around the building to check on the various extra-curricular clubs that each students were required to be a member of. We were able to observe the swimming club, cooking club, art club and music club.  Passing by the cooking club, their moderator gave us some kind of Thai salad with papaya and tomatoes.

Warning: You might hit a bird

The location of NSTRU still amazes me. It is located in a countryside of Thailand. It was surrounded by mountains (if it wasn’t on the mountain itself) and surrounded by canopy of trees. No wonder why bird are like flying towards you and might get close in hitting you. I experienced this several times while walking in the streets of the university. One time, I was walking and a bird was flying (like taking off) right in front of me!!! Maybe it was also because of the altitude. It was fun to experience such things as a science educator, but it will surely give you a close call to heart attack!
